Family Canoe Trip

A weekend get-away with the luxury of having someone else care for the details. Camp Friedenswald and Amigo Centre are teaming up for this sixth annual event to bring families the opportunity to experience a weekend of camping, outdoor cooking, and canoeing on local rivers. End the summer with a special family adventure that will build good memories and refresh you spiritually.
Facilities
We will use t he “lower camp” of Mirror Valley Retreat on Valley Road near Union, MI, which consists of a cluster of three rustic cabins (each will accommodate a family of 8) and a bathhouse. The lawn area has ample space for tenting. The Crow’s Nest, which is an old barn that has been converted into an activity center with a kitchenette , will also be utilized.
Resource Persons :
Colin Rusel and Cheryl Mast will again bring leadership to this program. Colin is Program Director at Camp riedenswald. Cheryl is Coordinator of Outdoor /Environmental Education at Amigo Centre. Both are nature enthusiasts with much camping experience and their desire is to get others excited about exploring the beauty and wonders of God’s creation.

Location of Mirror Valley Retreat
Wonderfully secluded in the hills and ravines of southern Michigan, Mirror Valley Retreat is easily accessed by taking U.S. 12 three miles west of Mottville , MI or two miles east of Union , MI to Valley Road. Go one mile north on Valley Rd, there on the right, on an ancient glacial ridge, you’ll find Mirror Valley Retreat overlooking the quiet waters of Mirror Lake.
