Junior High Weekend II- January 27-29
Speaker: Ken Hawkley- "Facebook and Faithbook"
Flashmobs, Arab Spring, loneliness, identity theft. Social media plays a big part in the world for good and bad. What part does it play in your world? Are you a disciple of Jesus Christ when you are online? Should you be? Can you be? Let’s talk about social media and what it can and can’t do and how your faith just may make social media more than it was ever imagined to be.
Ken Hawkley works at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. He thinks Bible study is fun and interesting. Go figure. He also likes gardening, reading, cooking and other kinds of old people stuff. He plays chess badly and table tennis even worse and as for Dutch Blitz – forget it. He used to be a dance instructor and still considers himself a writer (mostly Reader’s Theater stuff and plays). Ken has been married for 34 years to Louise, a research scientist and has two children who are at or near their 30s.
Music Leaders: Kara Mishler, Eric Martin, and others
